This symposium caters to social service providers collaborating to improve services for vulnerable young people. The brand name He Tai Pari means ‘the incoming tide’. Paul designed the logo and collateral with consideration to the themes of the conference: evidence, outcomes, collaboration. There are several design elements, which together illustrate these themes. The movement of tides represents knowledge flowing in and out, indicating constant change.
The single line that floats above the woven design symbolises the Kuaka or godwit, who migrate to Aotearoa to feed on the bountiful resources of the tidal landscape. The form of the interwoven shapes denotes the free flowing of open ideas, the kete which holds knowledge that we share, a framework embodying the collaboration from which ideas are built.
